On Monday, March 2, we drove from Bangalore to Tumkur for our "mid-trip break." The Tumkur East Rotary club welcomed us at the club president's new house with fresh flower garlands and the red bindi on our foreheads. It was a WOW, celebrity status feeling welcome!
They gave us a big breakfast inside; the professional photographer of their club documented our every move with his Nikon camera.
We drove to the "mountain" top for a expansive view and then later that evening visited several of their Rotary club service projects. They are a fun and very lively group of Rotarians. We ended our day at a Rotary club meeting at 8 pm with 3 of the 4 local clubs attending.
